Flourish Friday

~Three Layouts~
This beautiful set is called Poinsettia and Boxwood , it from Flourishes' I love how you can layer the Poinsettia, the set also has a smaller version of the Poinsettia Flower. I did some playing with my layout to see what was more pleasing to the eye. Not sure which one is my favorite, I think I like them all. The gorgeous paper I used is Glittering Christmas paper from Flourishes' I stamped my Poinsettia's on red paper and embossed it with gold embossing powder, them cut them out and layered them, I love stamps that I can layer, gives it a nice effect.

Hope you enjoy, and please check out the Flourishes blog.

Follow Your BlissThis week my friend Frances is creating the MFT Sketch Challenge. Hope you have time to play, to see the sketch, and find out how you can win a gift certificate, check out the MFT Forums.

I love Frances' sketch, but i did tweak it a bit. I moved the circle and the curly punch layer, as I didn't want to cover up the books.

Kim thought it would be fun to add a free Perfect Palette to all orders over $40, until midnight Friday! Simply mention Perfect Palette in the comments section of your order and she will add one in! If you don't add the text, they might not remember.... so make sure to add it.

STAMPS: MFT , Flopsey
INK: Copic Markers
PAPER: DP. green and peach

OCC Challenge

~You're Still The One~

Today's OCC Challenge is to make a gift box or tag. I made several boxes that just weren't working for me and ended up in the trash. Than I started to panic that i would have nothing to post for our challenge. So I decided to go with a tag and put it on my card. Does my background look familiar? I redid the card I made on Wednesday, I just wasn't happy with it. Guess I'm not happy unless I have a ton of stuff on my card.

Vintage Value

Feeling Groovy
It's time for another Our Creative Corner mid-week challenge! This challenge is hosted by Julee Tilman, who wanted us to get a little inky with our Verve stamps. The challenge is to give your Verve projects a vintage glow with a technique called Vintage Values. To play along, upload your creation to your blog or gallery. If you upload to SCS, remember to use keyword: OCCC.
************
Here are Julee's directions: Vintage Values How-To: Requires 2-3 shades of the same color of ink and a craft sponge. Starting with your lightest shade of ink, use a craft sponge to sweep ink from the outer edges of your cardstock inward as far as you want your glow to touch. Repeat with your next shade of ink, but only sweep about 2/3 as far in (so some of the lighter color still shows in the inner sections). Repeat with the darkest shade of ink (if desired), sweeping with short strokes, only about 1/3 of the way in.

  • Stamps: Verve Feeling Groovy
  • Ink: Black and blues
  • PAPER: Blues, DP, White
  • Brad, primas, Spellbinder dies, Big Shot Bigz Top Note, ribbon.
